From Trailer to Homeownership!

Many may think that owning a home is unattainable. But if a guy like me with few resources and little previous knowledge can achieve it, so can YOU! 

 

When I look back at my life when I was living in a trailer in high school with my grandma, it taught me one thing: to work hard if you want to change your circumstances and achieve things you knew you were destined for. It all starts with belief—believing in yourself. Without the belief in yourself, you will stay stuck in your circumstances and possibly repeat the cycle that was set before you. I knew if I wanted change in my life, I had to be proactive and work hard, and working hard for me was finding a job and starting to save! I started working my junior year in high school and started saving every check I received. I didn’t know it at the time, but the money I was saving ended up being the money I used to purchase my first home!

Rundown of the home-buying process:

2.     Set Needs: List must-haves (location, size, features).

4.     Search Homes: View listings, attend open houses, and explore neighborhoods.
5.     Make an Offer: Submit a competitive offer with contingencies.
6.     Inspect & Appraise: Conduct a home inspection and ensure the appraisal aligns.
7.     Finalize Loan: Secure financing and resolve title issues.
